Won’t be long now… The Partysquad is on it’s way back to the dancefloors! Prelude is this brand new collab with Afrojack on Spinnin’!

An obvious Electro-house floorfiller waiting for the festival season to kick in.

The release is called ‘A msterdamn’ and like a firm contributor to existing prejudices of our fair Dutch country (love those windmills and wooden shoes), the video is shot in Holland’s capital. Expect a ‘too hot for MTV’ look of two tourists visiting Amsterdam, doing the Red Light district and coffeeshops.

Partysquad dj’s Ruben Leembruggen and Jerry Fernhout are looking forward to their comeback. In September 2008, Jerry was involved in a car crash during their stay on Ibiza. Due to a skull base fracture he was unable to continue his profession as producer and dj. In anticipation we’re waiting for the new record that will be released end May 2010.

The first gig of the dj duo is scheduled half June at the former location of the infamous IT-club in Amsterdam. The venue has been reconstructed into brand new club ‘AIR’ by Sander Groet -former ID&T- and Sjoerd Wynia & Niels de Geus -The Good Guyz- (amongst others) and opened IT’s doors on April 29.

Afrojack is scoring big time with his new remix of Benny Benassi’s ‘Satisfaction’ (> 115.000 YouTube views), that already drove people crazy during the Ultra Music Festival, but is finally available on an official release. See for yourself what the fuzz is about…

Great new performance of Monica Bragato a.k.a. Moony from Venice, Italy. This vocalist single handedly made my summer in 2003 with her production Dove (I’ll Be Loving You). Ok – to be honest – the producers of Moloko had a little saying in the release too.

Come to think of it… Monica has been in our hearts for a while! Remember Spiller’s track Positive, back in 1998? Or DB Boulevard’s ‘Point of View’ in 2002? All Moony!

On the new release ‘I Don’t Know Why’, Moony is singing out her lungs again with that same glorious flavour that we know so well. The new release is exclusive on Beatport and has been released in 2008 already. New juices are from Chus and Jerome Isma-Ae on the Airplane imprint.

From May this year everybody’s getting some real Satisfaction with the new release of Milano’s Benny Benassi!

From the very first production on (KMC feat. Dhany – ‘I Feel So Fine’ (2001), #1 club hit in the UK Charts), Benny and his brother Alle turned out to be top notch producers. The bar was raised a little after 2002’s Satisfaction, but the Benassi bros kept coming on strong.

Only last year Benny and his brother received a Grammy award for their remix of Public Enemy’s ‘Bring The Noise’, whose bassline almost made my speakers burst. USA’s Ultra label made sure the Benassi sound expanded worldwide and meanwhile Benny puts his creative juices to good use on his own label Energy productions. Benny is relentless in his search for new talent through his imprint Pump-kin, featuring artist like Gianluca Motta and Alex Gaudino.

The new masterpiece is out on D:Vision like predecessors ‘Who’s Your Daddy’, ‘Feel Alive’, ‘Love Is Gonna Save Us’ and ‘I Love My Sex’. Check out ‘Come Fly Away’ and add Adam and Soha K. for a little ‘09 beach flavour!

On January 26th, Pete Tong played it the first time in the history of mankind. Scottish Calvin Harris’ new release ‘I’m Not Alone’ is on a path to become a gigantic floorfiller. Unlike his ‘disco-electro-tech’ productions ‘Acceptable In The 80’s’ and ‘The Girls’ this new track has a Trancy feeling to it, making it accessible to a larger crowd of adaptees and music lovers.

We like where Calvin is going with this: most certainly one of the first real hot summervibes of the 2009 season. I’m Not Alone… I’m sure you agree! Out since April 6 on Fly Eye recordings!

‘Say, Ooh La La, Say zoom. Come on, Come on…’

You might recognize the words above as the chorus of the 90’s hit ‘Ooh La La’ by The Wiseguys. Well, at least 50% of ‘em has returned to the spotlights!

UK dj Theo Keating aka dj Touché is the big man behind the Fake Blood floorfiller ‘Mars’. It’s not only the hiphop, big beat and electro audiences Theo is entertaining, even big companies like Mitsubishi and Budweiser and the movie producers of Lizzie McGuire, Zoolander and Kangaroo Jack called upon him (’Ooh La La’ and ‘Start The Commotion’).

Househeads surely know his underground productions like ‘Good Looking / Tangerine’ (Sublimal) and ‘The Paddle’ (Fatboy Slim’s label Southern Fried). He also remixes, produces and dj’s with his alterego Fake Blood. Be sure to check his 2007 remix of Armand van Helden’s ‘I Want Your Soul’.

The first release of Mars in June 2008 became a big hit on Dutch popfestival ‘Pinkpop’ since both electrojocks Dr. Lektroluv AND Crookes played it in their dj sets. Lately the record has been given big support by Dutch Radio 3FM during the fundraiser in their annual Glass House event and made it all the way to the top 15 of the most requested tracks during the Serious Request chart.

I know… It isn’t fair to the artist because Anton’s sound is one of a kind, truly. But it’s a big compliment when my mind compared some of the loops in ‘Players’ to the Samplitude sounds of fellow ‘Amsterdammer’ Olav Basoski when i first heard it.

I actually had a hard time choosing between ‘Players’, ‘I Do Not Want’ and ‘Last Night’ for the first feature of this year. This has to be the exact reason why Shinedoe and Dylan Hermelijn founded the Intacto imprint in 2004. Releasing brilliantly produced EP’s like this one into the wild!

It’s a classic portfolio of Anton Pieëte’s capability… The uplifting pulse of ‘Players’ combined with the much deeper techy ‘I Do Not Want’ and the Detroit drive of ‘Last Night’, this EP says it all!

His cooperation project with Bart Skills already made him a mainPlayer with their ‘District One’ releases, but Anton solo is a revelation. Supported by Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Adam Beyer and Loco Dice. It’s a big one! Welcome to 2009!

Armin’ s year has been rocking for sure…

Besides winning the Dutch ‘popprijs 2007′, Holland’s best export product got voted “Best dj of the World” for the second time in a row. Besides that he recently won three awards during the fourth annual Trance Awards, granting him titles like “Best radioshow” (’A State Of Trance’), “Best resident dj” (’Armada nights’) and “Best Album” (’Imagine’) with 20.000+ votes from 125 different countries.

With two smashing releases (’Going Wrong’ – March and ‘In And Out Of Love’ – August), another artist album (’Imagine’ – April) and 16.000 people going nuts @ Armin Only, which took place on the day of his album release, the sky is the limit.

It was also the first year his event was broadcasted live on Dutch tv (’BNN’) and covered by Dutch radio (3FM / SlamFM).

Last September he released his fifth album in the ‘A State Of Trance’ compilation series.

His upcoming single ‘Stay With Me’ features Dutch vocalist Jacqueline Govaerts from the band ‘Krezip’. It’s the second release from the album and the already announced follow up of ‘In And Out Of Love’ was supposed to be ‘Unforgivable’ but actually got pulled back for this one!

Gabriel Ananda got the tech virus, listening to a dj set of Sven Vath in 1995.

Only two years after that very moment, experimenting with electronic sounds, Gabriel released his first brainchild on Hörspielmusik. Rapidly Ananda delivered quality tracks on labels like Trapez, Utils, Substatic, Treibstoff and his own label Karmarouge.

Unusual is the keyword that describes his sounds best. A mash of Techno, Minimal, Dub and House, but with a distinctive ‘Gabriel Ananda gravy’ on top.

His release ‘Süssholz’ went right to the #1 position in the German DJ-charts of Groove Magazine in 2004, followed by clubsmash ‘Ihre persönliche Glücksmelodie’ in 2005 and an even bigger smash with ‘Miracel Whop’ on Platzhirsch in 2006.

We simply loooove his Doppelwhipper and Coconut Blues is another chapter in the Ananda tradition that positions this Cologne dj/producer on top of the scene.

It’s kinda crazy that we have to label this track ‘just passing through’, but a beauty it is! Dj DLG is in the middle of a world tour and the release of his track with Erick Morillo, that everyone is waiting for, is due this fall.

The story in short: last season on Eivissa was largely influenced by the track ‘Where Are You Now’, a collab between Erick Morillo and DLG. The track is eagerly expected by every house loving animal on the planet.

A brilliant collaboration between Alex Neri, Marco Solforetti and Ilario Alicante resulted in the biggest tech bash of summer 2008. The long awaited Tenax release is called ‘Warm Vibes EP’ and make no mistake: it’s as hot as summer on Eivissa!

Where Neri and Solforetti take credit for side A’s “Birdy”, Ilario is bashing his vibes fiercely from homebase Livorno – Italy with “Vacaciones En Chile”.

The Tenax ‘rookie’ created a slightly romantic techno track that captured the hearts of giants like Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice and Richie Hawtin.

This week’s pick was a close call between Dr. Kucho’s new release ‘Sahara Ghost’ and the new Andy Callister production ‘N.O.W.’, but we have a clear winner!

Dutch dj Andy Callister (Rotterdam) is playing the scene for over fifteen years. In his early years he actually produced hardcore music alongside dj Paul Elstak, later he followed the footsteps of legendary speedgarage producers like Joost van Bellen and dj Johnson and finally he found his calling: Latin House- and Afrobeats.

Last year he released a mix cd together with Carlos Silva called ‘Viva La Revolucion!’.

Right now his latest release is set to appear on the Slized imprint from the Dutch ‘Digidance’ label. He comfortably used a sample of Heavy D. and The Boyz hitsingle ‘Now That We’ve Found Love’.

Andy Callister – N.O.W!!!

This week’s Clubradio feature is one of the best tracks that’s gonna make the cut into the SeriousHouse selection from the clubs!

The artist won’t need a special introduction: everybody who hasn’t heard of the Shapeshifters yet should be ashamed. The UK lads went public in 2003, scoring a bashing #1 position in the UK charts because of a track based on Simon’s wife Lola.

‘Lola’s Theme’ knew succeeders like ‘Back to Basics’, ‘Incredible’ and ‘Sensitivy’ and their new production puts them back on the map where they belong. Simon Marlin & Max Reich released their ‘Chime’ on Defected (a track with no link what-so-ever to Orbital’s legendary ‘Chime’ from 1989/90).

A perfect production that starts to kick in after at about four minutes, that has taken thousands to a climax on Eivissa last summer, succeeded with great remixes of Dutch/UK superstar producer Martijn ten Velden!

What can be said about this absolute hidden talent from Breda, The Netherlands?

Years in relative anonimity started in the early 90’s when he did his first residency in Tiësto hangout ‘Spock’, mashing beats of Lil’ Louis and Todd Terry. After working as an A&R manager in the industry, he formed an alliance with friend Raf and Dutch dj producer Fedde le Grand (former resident dj of ‘Danssalon’ Eindhoven after Marco V. and Benjamin Bates).

Their hot imprint Flamingo Recordings (yep, named after that Miami Vice icon bird) released thunderous electro/tech tracks like crazy.

Over the past years, Funkerman’s magic hands created ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ (samples taken from Matthew Dear’s release on Ghostly in 1999), ‘The Creeps’, ‘Speed Up’ and ‘3 Minutes To Explain’.

This guy pulled nights with four dj sets in a row and appeared on massive events like Mystery Land, Extrema Outdoor (Holland), Love Parade (Germany), Creamfields, Ministry of Sound (UK) and was asked to perform as host of the ‘Monday Calling’ nights in Space Ibiza (last edition up September 29th).

It’s a fucking understatement that he belongs to the A-list…

There’s a good chance you have never heard of Ralf GUM before, but make no mistake… this guy is no rookie. With over 250 dj sets under his belt in German and other international venues, Ralf could be as well a dj veteran.

Since 1992 Ralf is playing crowds at Noise-Club, Art, Vertigo, Boot (Würzburg) and Yellow Kitchen (Mannheim). Since 2006 his sound is the centre of Stuttgart’s club Climax and Frankfurt’s new in-location APT (since 2008) as well.

In 2001 Ralf GUM started to build up his label “GOGO Music”. Late 2005 GOGO Music was called “one of the hottest imprints around” by UK’s leading magazin “Blues & Soul” and Germany’s “Subculture” wrote that “GOGO Music is the prime German house label”. In 2003 Ralf initiated the own GOGO Music Radioshow (the show is broadcasted by 25 stations around the globe).

In his productions, Ralf worked alongside Michael Proctor and Inaya Day and started in 1993. May this year his album ‘Uniting Music’ saw daylight on GoGo music.

This week’s Clubradio feature is truly a pearl on Ralf’s score list. Together with poet Carolyn Ferrari, better known as Flint, Michigan’s ‘Diamondancer’ (remixes for a.o. Jimpster) he’s responsible for the feel of ‘All This Love For You’ on GoGo music.

Still the leading lady of pop music after all those years is of course Madonna…

Her artist album ‘Hard Candy’ will be in stores in Europe at April 28 and the first from this album is already a big hit in most countries across the world: ‘4 Minutes (To Save The World)’. The album has been produced by Timbaland and 4 Minutes also features the vocals of Justin Timberlake.

Dutchie Tom Holkenborg a.k.a. Junkie XL announced on Dutch television (during the main Dutch talk show ‘De Wereld Draait Door’ (The World Keeps Spinning by Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, red.) that the agency of Madonna asked him to do a remix of the new song. During the broadcast, Tom gave a live ’sneak preview’ of his work for Madonna. Dance artist Bob Sinclar also had the privilige of being asked to give an interpretation on Madonna’s new Warner release.

Yesterday, the release was launched in the UK and we did everything to make sure that we are able to broadcast the Junkie XL remix in high quality on this week’s episode of Clubradio.

In 2006 Chris created his own ‘Rising Music’ imprint, away from the mayors, to promote his own material. Besides that Chris set up ‘Rising Trax’ for the more underground records Chris wants to sign.

Sébastien Léger is an excellent producer and remixer, resulting into remixes for giants like Armand van Helden, Eric Prydz, Justin Timberlake, Duran Duran, Groove Armada and many many more…

This week’s Clubradio feature was produced by half Dutch, half Danish producer Jorgensen, known from his early dj days as a resident dj in club ‘Nightlife’, Breda.

It looks as if Jorgensen is ready for the big league, since this record is signed to Toolroom records UK. The song is supposed to be co-written by singer Luciana Caporaso, known from her collabs with Bodyrox, Martijn ten Velden and club-banger ‘What Planet U On?’.

The instrumental version by Jorgensen met the magic of UK group BSD’s (Beauty School Dropouts) Aimee, China and Sindy.

The track has real ‘radio airplay potential’ with the BSD vocals and is sure to burn the floors as Bodyrox’s ‘Yeah Yeah’ did…

In just 4 years, and coming out of nowhere, Sander van Doorn is achieving stuff dreams are made of. Debuting in DJ Mag’s prestigious Top 100 poll at 32 in 2006 and then climbing 17 places to 15 in 2007 indicates the power and popularity of this man.

If you haven’t heard of Grasshopper, King of My Castle, By Any Demand and Riff then you’re probably not in tune with dance music. Every van Doorn production of 2007 has sent waves through the electronic music industry with dj’s from a multitude of genres slotting his work into their sets. Radio play of all four tracks was guaranteed as were high chart placings, reaching the number one spot on more than one occasion.

Planet look out!

Born Christmas 1988, Wardt van der Harst is a youngster inspired by one of the legends of today’s trance scene, Tiësto. He was 12 when he heard ‘Flight 643′. That moment was the moment he decided to save money for dj gear.

At the age of 16 he had his first release, but his career got an immense boost when Ensure/Exposé got signed by Black Hole. He knew he was on the right pad, certainly when his second EP got signed by Sander van Doorn’s own imprint Doorn Records, which is a sub label from Spinnin Records.

That is not all, further tracks are signed to Armada under another project called ‘W&W’ – Mustang. And so is his new EP called ‘Guess What?!’ signed to Black Hole again.

In October 2007, the promo actually appeared already in the UK Cool Cut Charts, slowly moving it’s way up. The promo appeared through Frenetic, but the official release will not be until February 2008.

Digital release on February 11, followed by the vinyl release on Physical February 18.

The record is a cover of ‘Let No Man Put Asunder’ by First Choice from the 70’s and Rhythm On The Loose – ‘Break Of Dawn’ (1995).

Last summer was a preview for things happening to Ron Carroll’s ‘Nike Song’. At various festivals and in the clubs ‘Walking Down The Streets’ got serious playtime from the gentlemen dj’s.

Maybe it’s because the track applies to both house- and hiphop lovers, or maybe it’s because of the release on cd… Hell, as i come to think of it: it may as well be BOTH! But the release is getting serious airplay on mayor radiostations in Holland.

The label that’s single handedly responsible for the worldwide release, is itself only one year alive, celebrating it’s first anniversary this month. The goal of Sneakerz is simple as can be…

The Sneakerz parties are great for everybody that loves serious house music and the same concept is transported to the record label. At the parties residents like Fedde le Grand, Baggi Begovic and Erick E. support the upcoming talents. The label provides a platform for upcoming talents like Youri Donatz, Skitzofrenix, Groovenatics and Bart B More, with remix support from the Sneakerz residents.

Among these youngster, Ron Carroll himself is 40 years of age and his experience dates back to the eighties. The Chicago born dj, producer and especially singer produced and sang to his own hits like ‘Lucky Star’ (with Superfunk, 1999), ‘Back Together’ (with Hardsoul, 2004) and ‘My Life’ (again with Hardsoul, 2006). He also wrote for artists like Barbara Tucker, Ce Ce Peniston and Bob Sinclar.

Like many oldskool house lovers the start of a new weekend would make me crazy with anticipation for the parties to come. In the early days of Dutch house music, i used to visit hip and happening Amsterdam every weekend to feel the vibe of Roxy, It or Escape.

Resident dj on Saturday night in the Escape was dj Marcello, one of the godfathers of Dutch house music, hosting his weekly clubnight Chemistry.

Back in the days, when the slogan: “I’m a deejay, I AM what I PLAY” was displayed on countless occasions, dj’s used to cover up their sleeves and records with stickers, to prevent ‘playlist theft’.

THE big secret track Marcello used to play on the Chemistry night was a release by Barrington on Secret Love recordings, an imprint of utterly famous Outland records and licensed from Planet 4 Communications. Nobody knew the title, but everybody sang along like one hiddeous false choir, since it was played for weeks and weeks…

Recently, after an afterparty at Dj Marcello’s house, Dj Marnix, founder and resident dj of the Loveland parties, stumbled upon the outtakes of Barrington’s ‘Generate Love’ and excitedly called Hardsoul producer, dj Roog to tell him about it.

After a serious reconstruction of the Lyons & Stewart original, they remixed this bash from the old days into a fantastic 2007 version.

The package features remixes of Hardsoul, Sergio Flores and Dj Prom and is already labeled as one of the post-summer anthems of next year.

Not bad for a DAT tape that was gathering dust in a house in the centre of Amsterdam.

Irish dj/producer John O’ Callaghan’s track ‘Big Sky’ is becoming the #1 vocal trance smash of 2007. On the edge of the new year, Armin van Buuren pulled this release on his Armind imprint.

Nobody less then Paul van Dyk called him ‘one the most exciting producers in the world today’. And he has a point! After doing a remix for Thomas Bronzwaer, John immediately continued his winning streak onto Filo & Perry’s ‘Anthem’ with another mindblowing remix.

This afternoon the agency of Re-Ward announced a new release licensed to Doorn records (yes, indeed… Sander van Doorn’s label/sublabel of Dutch mayor Spinnin’s records). Under his own name Wardt has signed an EP called ‘Show My Shuffle/Extensions’ that will appear January 2008.

The month after that he’s going to present his new release ‘Mustang/Eruption’, co-produced by studio partner Willem van Hanegem, son of the famous Dutch soccer coach. The project’s name is ‘W & W’. It will appear on Armada’s sublabel Captivating Sounds and is also enclosed in Armin’s ‘A State Of Trance yearmix’ due in the same month.

The big follow up of Sander van Doorn’s clubhit ‘Riff’ will come out in March and Wardt has produced a remix for that one also.

Furthermore he’s gonna tour the world with Sander van Doorn himself March to June 2008. Besides touring with Sander, Re-Ward already has bookings for gigs in Finland, Sweden and Poland.

Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, Let Me Think About It, Wheels In Motion en Speed Up, just a few of the brilliant tracks, pounding dancefloors worldwide, all launched from their Flamingo recordings.

Fedde worked his way up by picking up the decks after Benjamin Bates and Marco V. on the Saturday residency at the famous club Danssalon, Eindhoven.

Ardie got his first weekly residency in Spock, Breda (Tiesto’s first platform). Funkerman has been the best kept secret in clubland for years now, working at Tiesto’s Magik recordstore and as an A&R manager for a couple of record labels.

Well… the secret’s out of the closet!!!

Still very young, Rossell is one of the leading house export products of his nation, conquering the world together with leading Mexican top dj’s such as Xavier Fux, Ramiro Puente and Martin Parra, on their own record label Phonia records.

It’s a delight to see the man play on no less then three decks, cdjs, a laptop and many effect units, resulting into residencies in Mexico, Switzerland and the UK and countless guest appearances around the world.

Hal Ritson and Cameron Saunders are megamashers ‘The Young Punx’ and will be on the next episode of Clubradio again.

Their debut album, already released in Japan this summer, contains the title name of this weeks Clubradio feature ‘Your Music Is Killing Me’.

The London based producers mixed and mashed tracks of artist like Tina Turner, Tom Jones and the Scissor Sisters and scored a big #1 UK club basher with their mix of Norman Cook’s “Mighty Dub Katz – Magic Carpet Ride”.

This month they will release their debut album on 4 other continents with a sound they call ‘Mashpop and punkstep’ themselves, fusing almost every type of danceable substyles into the unique Young Punx blender.

He’s from Holland, Zoetermeer (Sweet Lake city) and he doing good lately… reaaaly good!

Alex van Alff is a school example of how a Dutch guy can kick it all the way in the clubscene. From his 14th year he’s been behind decks and producing came naturally to him years ago.

‘Let It Go’ was released when the first signs of summer appeared on Swings, a sublabel of the famous Great Stuff label. Producer Ramon Zenker (known from his Hardfloor productions) signed for the remixes and Alff’s girlfriend Manon did the vocals on this one.

Beatport fans loved it, the track appeared on the official Loveparade 2007 (Essen, Germany) compilation and it’s played by dj’s like Didier Sinclair, Markus Lange, Scumfrog and Benny Benassi. Not bad for this young, talented Dutchy.

Sadly everybody (including me) is still refering to ‘Show Me Love’, her hitsong from the 90’s. But Robyn’s come a long way
since then!

Peaking into the pop scene again with ‘Keep This Fire Burning’ in 2002, followed by (in clubland respected) ‘Crash And Burn Girl’ in 2006 on her own Konichiwa records was only a sneak preview.

This year she already rocked the clubs with ‘Konichiwa Bitches’, only to top it with this one in collab with Kleerup:

The guys at Get Physical are known for using their slingshots to launch the biggest minimal tunes on the planet. This time they surely hit the bull’s eye, result: a big smile on every clubbers face!

No matter what you may think of this record: this is the ultimate summer anthem of 2007!!!

Minimal techno combined with an accordion, well… admit it: it’s a great invention. And it’s making crowds wild in clubs all over the globe every weekend.

Global superstar, chart topping producer and label owner Roger Sanchez is the founder and owner of Amsterdam based Stealth Records. His ‘Release Yourself’ concept is a worldwide respected spread of clubnights, compilation cd’s and a radioshow with over 1.2 million listeners every week.

John Reid, Hugh Brankin, Ross Campbell and Graham Wilson are The Nightcrawlers, well known for their 1995 brainchild ‘Push The Feeling On’, a massive dance classic and international hit in 1995.

At the start of this year’s summerseason, fate combined the two through Hungarian producer Belocca. As soon as the bootleg was cleared for his label Stealth Records, Roger added his S-Man Release juice on the production and launched it on the remix pack.
